Take this opportunity to reflect on what Pi has done for you. It’s the ratio that makes circles work. It’s a delicious treat. It is the letter ‘P’ in the ancient Greek alphabet. It’s that time in the morning when you realize that you really should be going to sleep. It’s that time in the afternoon that… doesn’t really elicit any kind of reaction. It’s always been there for you.

And always will be.

Never leaving.

Watching your every move.

When you least expect it, there it is, that never-ending stream of numbers.

You turn a corner in an arc. It’s there.

Waiting.

Waiting for you to calculate.

It speaks it’s value.

You run. Away from the demonic constant. As far as your legs can carry you, right angles at every turn, yet you know it is following you. You need to forget this encounter and walk into a nearby convenience store. It is not until you are inside that you notice…

You walked inside a Circle K.

K doesn’t even have any curves in it. Yet somehow, it lives in harmony to the Circle. It’s beauty brings you to your knees. You purchase a Rice Crispie square and put it inside a bagel. The flavour is a masterpiece.

Perhaps Pi isn’t so bad after all.
